A few months ago, I was approached about designing wedding invitations for a family friend and his fiance for their wedding in April 2013. I was both surprised and excited at being asked and of course, jumped at the chance - what a great opportunity!
This was to be my first experience of designing and making wedding invitations.
I had my collection of Christmas cards on the go but that was just a little project for fun; this project was a lot more professional and I didn't want to let the lovely couple down!
The bride and groom specified for a 3-fold invitation for the day, which would have a little flap for inserts, and that they would like a blue/burnt yellow/white colour scheme.
The rest was up to me...
So, I went ahead and did a little research then put some ideas together on photoshop

I designed the scroll pattern myself to add a unique touch to the invitations.
With the approval of the happy couple, I began to gather materials and get to work on creating the 60 day and 70 evening invitations.
This involved measuring, cutting, sticking and putting together each individual invitation precisely and professionally, ensuring I achieved the highest quality finish - and of course adding a few diamantes here and there for that special sparkle!
And here we have it, a couple of snap shots of the finished pieces...
What do you think?
I would just like to say a massive thank you to Alex and Mike for giving me this opportunity.
It has been a big learning curve and a great experience.
I wish you all the luck for your married life together!
